An Amazing New Idaho Magazine for those who Love the Gem State!
So You Think You Can Write?
That's Awesome! We have the utmost respect for writers.
At Seasons of the 208 we love outdoor stories the most. If it happened in Idaho, we'd love to hear about it. We're looking for interesting stories told in first person of adventures in Idaho to feature, as well as poetry for our "Ode to Idaho" section. While our feature stories need to be non-fiction, we are also open to including one fiction piece in our winter issue as long as it is written about Idaho.
We require first rights to publication and no reprinting of the same basic content in other publications or online for 1 year.
For Issue 1, we have a tiered payment structure with four payment levels: 22 cents per word, 38 cents per word, 45 cents per word and 55 cents per word (your writing must be absolutely excellent to reach this level). Your payment depends on your level of writing expertise. All stories will go through our editing process. Our editor determines what level of payment you will receive, based on how much editing needs done to your piece.
We reserve the right to edit for clarity, punctuation, grammar and length. We do not pay kill fees. Payments are made in the month following publication.
Payment structure is subject to change between issues. Issue 2 is moving to a per piece payment structure. Those will be posted after we are past our first issue.
If your story is selected for publication, you are welcome to submit images to accompany your story, but if they are deemed to be not of the standard we require for our publication, we will source images through our photographer database.
We are also looking for one "My Idahome" essay, and one editorial piece.
We will not publish extremely controversial subjects, politics or religion.
Also, please do not submit any AI generated story content.
If you are selected to write for us, you will be assigned a word count appropriate to each piece. Please adhere to this amount or we will need to cut portions of your writing.
